A church’s ministry vision serves as its guiding star, a beacon ahead that continually reinforces the vision of the church that God is calling them to embody. Occasionally, a church may lose sight of its vision or recognize the need to formulate a new one, particularly during pastoral transitions.
Our visioning process guides the entire congregation in revisiting the church’s deep-rooted essence, reflecting on its current state, and dreaming of its future.
Our process is a phase of spiritual discernment where members collectively listen to the Holy Spirit’s guidance for the years ahead.
Healthy Visioning Process Framework
Below is the general framework for how a Visioning Team will work through our planning process. Every church is unique, and the process may be adapted to fit each congregation’s specific needs.
Orientation
Ensures the leadership team facilitating the congregation’s visioning process understands its responsibilities and can effectively communicate the process to the congregation.
Self-Study
Three churchwide discussions and listening sessions are focused on each member’s past, present, and future narratives. These narratives shape their values and aspirations for the church.
Development
Our consultants collaborate with the leadership team to craft a ‘Ten Dreams of the Church’ list for a congregation vote. The team will then use this ranking to present the final “Vision of the Future.”
Implementation
The subsequent phase in any Visioning Process involves transforming a vision into tangible strategies for its implementation. This often requires dedicated time and effort in cultivation.
On this new journey, you are moving toward where God intends for you to be, and your neighbors eagerly anticipate the positive impact you will have!
A Greater Vision
Apart from local churches, our consultants collaborate with Denominational, Judicatory, and Institutional entities nationwide to identify vision, alignment, and growth opportunities. Our services encompass:
- Clarifying mission and vision
- Enhancing church culture
- Implementation planning
- Opportunity management
