About Reginald Wells
Dr. Reginald Wells is a well-rounded, multi-hyphenate, progressive, philanthropic, Christ-centered, nationally recognized leader with a decades-long multidimensional career. He is a forward-thinking strategic leader who leverages his personal and professional experience in cross-sectional spaces to create safe spaces for conflict resolution, consensus building, and collaborative dialogue. He specializes in leading and developing small to mid-size churches and has served and led large congregations.
Dr. Wells earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Shaw University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Shaw University Divinity School, Raleigh, NC. In May 2015, he earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Preaching and Leadership from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Currently, he serves as Moderator of the Middle District Missionary Baptist Association; 3rd Vice President of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc.; General Board Member of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc.; Executive Committee Member of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc.; Foundation Board of Fayetteville State University, where he serves as Chair of the Development Committee. Also, he has preached and lectured on the continents of Africa and Asia. He is an active Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Beta Chi Chapter, Fayetteville, North Carolina member. In addition, Dr. Wells is the author of two publications, Pastoral Leadership Styles: Their Effects on the Growth of a Congregation and Leading When You Don’t Know the Answers. He continues serving as pastor of a thriving congregation in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Dr. Wells has served as Special Assistant for Religious Affairs to North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue. He was elected and served three terms as a Duplin County, North Carolina Board of County Commissioners member. He has held positions on hospital boards and boards of elections and has served various organizations as a board member. He is a proud veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged after his service during Desert Storm.
He is a gifted communicator and spokesperson who is passionate about caring for those in his sphere of influence and believes that there is an inherent human responsibility to serve and uplift others.
Along with his wife, Dr. Roxie Cannon Wells, Dr. Wells has gifted generous sums through philanthropic efforts for debt cancellation for graduating college students at various institutions, supported the development of a primary care clinic in West Africa, and provided funding to assist with the erecting of a medical education center for a local health system. He spearheads and participates in multiple volunteer activities that benefit members of his local community through the development of the Ministry Beyond the Walls platform at his local church.
