About George Mason
Dr. George Mason, a Christian theologian and Baptist pastor, joined our community in January. Formerly the Senior Pastor of the esteemed Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Mason brings over thirty years of pastoral experience to our organization. His commitment to mentoring young clergy and innovative approach to ministry has left an indelible mark on the congregations he has served.
In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Mason is an adjunct professor and the lead advisor for the Baptist House of Studies at Perkins School of Theology (SMU). He is also the founder and president of Faith Commons, an interfaith nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting diverse religious voices for the common good. Dr. Mason is a prolific writer and speaker, contributing regularly to esteemed publications such as The Dallas Morning News, Baptist News Global, Good Faith Media, and Christian Ethics Today.
Wilshire Baptist Church is one of the leading congregations in American life in the development of a pastoral residency program and Dr. Mason’s efforts have been instrumental in that work. His work with Pneumatrix and the Center for Healthy Churches will focus on providing expertise and guidance to congregations seeking to develop pastoral residency.
