About Paul Grier

Paul Grier is the Treasurer of and a consultant with The Center for Healthy Churches. He works with congregations in the areas of generosity analysis and programming, financial management, and church property assessment and disposition.
For 22 years, Grier served as a Vice-President at the Presbyterian Foundation, a national philanthropy, serving in funds-development leadership roles, managing multiple regional offices, and ultimately developing and managing an area that served 1500 congregations in assessing financial sustainability and providing property advisory services.
Having held elected and appointed public office, Grier had a career in healthcare service administration and finance for eighteen years prior to joining the Presbyterian Foundation. During that time, he led a healthcare enterprise that grew 20-fold in five years and served as Vice-President/Finance of another organization that maintained operations in ten states.
An eighth-generation Presbyterian, Grier has served as a deacon, elder, and trustee at three Presbyterian congregations and has served on finance, stewardship, endowment, mission, and outreach committees.
He has served on the boards of trustees of Presbyterian College, Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary, Presbyterian Heritage Center, a retirement community, a local public transit agency, an Area Agency on Aging, along with multiple other charities, foundations and regional and national healthcare trade associations.
A graduate of Erskine College and the Medical University of South Carolina, Paul is married and is the proud father of two adult children and one grandchild.
