About Deborah Wright
Deborah London Wright, ordained by the PC(USA) in 1978, is the co-founder of PneuMatrix and now serves as its Board President after her retirement. Specializing in adaptive change management, strategic planning, program development, and Positive Deviance implementation, Deborah's extensive career has shaped both non-profits and corporate environments.
With degrees from Duke University and San Francisco Theological Seminary, she has held various key positions, including Associate Pastor of Calvary SF, host of the KPIX-TV talk show Mosaic, and Director of Major Gifts at SFTS. Her leadership extended to roles like Trustee of the Presbyterian Foundation, faculty at SFTS, and her appointment to the Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness.
In 2011, Deborah and Jim Kitchens launched PneuMatrix to bring Adaptive Change Leadership to Presbyteries and congregations. She also founded Avalon Enterprises, a consultancy specializing in strategic planning and project management. Innovative business models for entrepreneurial non-profits, such as her creation of the tools ANIMAL FARM and DESIGNING FOR THE NEW NORM, remain the hallmark of her career.
She continues to impact the community as Vice President of the Board at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center, while applying her expertise to organizations like The George Lucas Educational Foundation, Google, Kaiser Permanente, and Kairos USA.
