About Ayana Teter
Ayana Teter brings two decades of experience in parish ministry, judicatory leadership, denominational service, and theological education administration to her work with the Center for Healthy Churches.
She currently serves as Dean of Community Life and Spiritual Formation at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and Parish Associate at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. As a congregational and judicatory consultant, Ayana helps nonprofit organizations, congregations, and spiritual leaders live more faithfully into their God-given mission through coaching, spiritual direction, strategic planning, and organizational visioning.
Ayana brings a thoughtful blend of deep listening, systems thinking, spiritual discernment, and best practices in organizational leadership to her consulting. Her work encourages churches and ministry organizations to embrace new pathways with clarity, courage, and faithfulness.
Her areas of focus include stewardship and strategic planning, cultural competency development and training, spiritual direction, group discernment practices, retreat facilitation, and organizational redevelopment.
Ayana is a graduate of Arizona State University, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, where she completed her Doctor of Ministry. She also has extensive training in marriage and family psychotherapy theory and practice.
Ayana has a passion for ballet, musical expression, spiritual discernment, and lifelong learning.
