About Frank Granger
Frank Granger brings more than 39 years of congregational ministry experience, specializing in “second-chair” leadership that strengthens staff teams, supports pastors, and sustains healthy ministry through seasons of change. For 36 years, Frank served at First Baptist Church of Athens, Georgia, partnering alongside four senior pastors and numerous ministry colleagues across music, children, youth, and collegiate ministries. He provided steady leadership through three pastoral transitions and understands firsthand how staff change—whether celebratory, complicated, or difficult—impacts congregational life, culture, and momentum.
Throughout his career, Frank has contributed to the field of Christian education as a leader within professional organizations and as an author of curriculum resources for adults, youth, and children, along with book reviews and articles. He has also offered conference leadership and presentations, and has taught courses at McAfee School of Theology. In addition, Frank has served in meaningful ways within community organizations and boards.
Frank holds a B.A. from Furman University (Music and Religion), an M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Pastoral Care), and a Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of Georgia.
Frank and his wife, Teresa, live in Athens, where they cheer on the Dawgs, enjoy hospitality at home, traveling, and a good suspenseful crime drama. Frank also loves cooking, home projects, occasional golf, and pickleball adventures.
